Approach
Psychodynamic and trauma-informed: At it’s heart, my work uses psychodynamic and systems-based methods to explore identity, family systems, and other influences in my clients’ lives.
Drama therapy: Our emotional truths live not only in the mind, but are often held in the body. Drama therapy is a framework that allows us to explore the ways in which, as Bessel Van der Kolk says, “the body keeps the score.” I use a variety of embodied activities and techniques in both group, individual and consulting work. in particular I have advanced training in:
My style: Clients often describe me as grounded, calm and direct. I have a deep capacity for listening, holding feelings, and sitting in complexity without moving into action immediately. I am both warm and serious; thoughtful and playful. Overall, I take a systems approach, and believe it is essential to look at the context surrounding a person and what they are working on. I take an active role with my clients and like to work collaboratively.
