Therapy for College Students & YOung Adults

Who am I supposed to be?

Society tells you that when you’re an adult you’ll have it all figured out. You may have set out with a specific idea of who you want to become but now everything is shifting and you’re feeling lost and unsure of what to do next. You may be feeling:

  • Hopeless and unsure about the future

  • Anxious or having panic attacks that stop you from going to work or class

  • Destabilized by a recent traumatic event or something reminding you of past trauma

  • Feeling like everyone around you is on their path to success and you’re left behind

It can be hard to bring these feelings up with your family, friends, and loved ones. They want to believe that everything is going well and that you’re okay. Sometimes even when you try to reach out, they don’t know what to say, or they may even make it worse saying things like “you’ll get through this” or “just leave the past in the past.” You’re wondering where you can go for more support so you can actually start moving through this and feeling better.

I thought things were supposed to get easier after I turned 18.

It takes time to find yourself, especially when facing pressure to figure it out. Even if it feels hopeless right now, I know it’s possible to get support. Together, we’ll sit down and look at all of the changes you’re experiencing and sort through where you want to go. We’ll explore what tools may help to bring you back to center–we may make some art, do some creative writing or meditation, or just talk about what’s on your mind. I’ll help you learn how to tune into your intuition and your body, and together we can sort through what your hopes are for your future. I can help you rediscover your passion and feel connected in community.

Small Changes Now Lead to Big Shifts Down the Road

My goal for my clients is to help you work through the things blocking you from creating the life that you want. Remember the feeling when you were a kid and looking at the adults you admired and thinking they have it all together? That vision of the life you want is built by getting clear on what YOU want (not always an easy task!) and breaking it down into manageable steps with lots of support. In our first session, we’ll talk about what your needs are and where I can be the most help. I’m excited to help clients who want to build their confidence, sort through the things blocking them from knowing what they want, and create a life that they want.
